Vedanta Wisdom

Chapter X – The Bhagavad Gita

Do You Know Why the Lord Disapproves of us Seeking to Know of His Glory, of His Greatness?

We often use, and believe in, this statement – God is omnipresent.

Believers often assert, “ईश्वर सर्वव्यापी हैं!

But what does this really mean?

How about the Lord Himself detail this analytically for us and then go on to explain why this seeking is a useless waste of a true saadhak’s time!

Welcome to the annual Bhagavad Gita lecture series of the Vedanta Wisdom Trust.

This year’s discources will be delivered by Sushilaji, senior disciple of Swami Parthasarathy.

The chapter she will delve into is Chapter X – विभूतियोग:The Yoga of Supreme Manifestation.

The chapter is an eye-opener in many ways:

  1. It talks about the preparation required to realize Brahman.

  2. It delves into a common question every seeker has i.e. how can one unite with Him, through this (manifested) world.

  3. It presents the Lord’s assertion of Himself as the very best of all species and objects; and his reasons for declaring the same.

  4. It concludes with the Lord’s displeasure in one’s seeking to know His glory; an activity He proclaims as useless.
