Yoga means to join. So yoga is the process of joining back with one’s Self.
There are 4 yogas- hatha, karma, bhakti and jnana. These are meant for different aspects of our personality. The 4 aspects are: indolent, active, emotional and intellectual.
We should proportion doing the yogas to the extent the aspects exist in our personality.
