Guest Lecture on Chikankari
July 31 @ 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
To assist students of the PG Diploma in Applied Vedanta course in finding their swadharma, they are exposed to a range of fields each month. One such exposure, via an online lecture, is happening on Chikankari.
Chikankari is a centuries-old, traditional hand-embroidery style originating from Lucknow, India. Derived from the Persian word chikan (delicate needlework), it features intricate floral and paisley patterns traditionally stitched using white thread on fine, airy fabrics like muslin, cotton, or georgette.
The speaker is Shalini Mishra, founder and promoter of Manjari Chikankari.
