Animal Farm with Vedantic Interpretation
October 18 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Join us for the screening of the movie Animal Farm along with the Vedantic interpretation by Dr Janki Santoke.
About the movie:
Animal Farm (1999) is a unique, dark satirical adaptation of George Orwell’s classic novella that brings the famous revolution to life through an innovative mix of live-action, sophisticated puppetry from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, and computer-generated effects. Directed by John Stephenson, this television film offers a captivating yet chilling visual take on the rise and fall of the farm’s utopian rebellion.
While the film stays true to the heart of Orwell’s allegory about power, corruption, and the betrayal of ideals, it introduces a framing device and a slightly altered conclusion that reflects a more modern perspective on totalitarian regimes. Packed with incredible voice talents including Patrick Stewart, Kelsey Grammer, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, this version remains a thought-provoking, visually impressive experience that challenges us to look closely at our own society. And remember: “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”
